is on the referall and I am still looking through the system to find the one that has Occ. T. If it is Orlando, I may start screaming and never stop. I am filling out Linx reduced fare applications today while T does his vacation work. Anyway, this will make it easier to get to appointments. This may work out a lot less money than trying tokeep a car registered and insured. Ugh, the budget haunts. Alas, yet again I forget what I am writing about.
I was not fazed when I first found out since I knew L was "off" but now that I am researching through a certain dicorder and way of thinking--and the number of supports that must be in place, I am definitely fazed. Blindstruck is more like it. I am having to change a whole lot and I am sure everyone will benefit because I have no choice but to organize now that I know fully what his issues are and accept that his thinking difers. I scanned books on my Kindle last night to begin a library. Sometimes one wants more depth than can be found in a web page or two.
Putting Kindle down since I am looking up books that have NOTHING to do with and Auspie child.
Aspergers can manifest in different ways. They can be high functioning, with mild sysmptoms tp severly hanicapped by the syndrome. Some activities we are trying witht he sensory issue are allowing L to play with a pile of shaving cream, ooblick (cornstarch and water), dried rice with implements to pour. Always lots of bath toys to explore water too.
Sensory for L also spills into his clothing so now I will buy two of what he really likes so he can rotate. Especiallly sneakers. He refuses tot throw the ones that are disgusting out for a pair he has had for 3 months.

This download is 62 pages but includes charts to keep track of contacts therapists, appointments and phone numbers as well as a plethora of information on resouces and Asperger's itself. I've just finished prinint it and am off to three hole punch and place in a binder. Tjen I am going to fill in all the Dr's he has seen. So much has happened so darn fast with his care. I am gratefully that after so many years of knowing there was a problem, I have been able to get him care in place fairly rapidly by FL standards--no downright lightening-like by FL standards. Just another way to organize and by me being organized, it makes it easier for me to help everyone else living here become more in control of their environment for misplacing things is our trade mark.
TAKING TURNS: Difficult for an Aspergers child. We play games where he has to wait for everyone to have a turn. Start off with mom and L then we added kids to make it more challenging for him to wait. He also has to wait his turn for computer time and has it limited.
I think structure is what it boils down to. Get time for computer activities if you get checks on chore charts, (must make new ones today: chores haven't been working out as well as I hoped).
HOMESCHOOL ASIDE:
I found this site with downloadable lesson plans. I am going to use the preschool ones for B and L so they have "work" to do.
